Privacy Policy

How Bank Statement Converter handles your information.

This policy explains what Bank Statement Converter collects, why we collect it, how statement conversion works, who supports the service, and the choices available to you.

Overview

Privacy matters because bank statements are sensitive.

This Privacy Policy explains what Bank Statement Converter collects, why we collect it, how we use it, who helps us process it, and how long it is kept. It applies to the website, dashboard, PDF upload workflow, conversion previews, paid unlocks, subscriptions, exports, and API access.

Bank Statement Converter is designed to convert PDF bank statements into structured outputs such as CSV, Excel, and Google Sheets-friendly files. We aim to collect only the information needed to provide the service, support paid plans, operate the product, prevent abuse, and keep the workflow reliable.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect account, document, usage, payment, and technical information.

  • Account data. Email address, login or authentication identifiers, team settings, plan status, API key metadata, and related account details.
  • Uploaded documents. Bank statement PDFs, optional PDF open passwords, extracted tables, transaction rows, page counts, previews, and generated outputs.
  • Usage data. Conversion events, page usage, plan limits, dashboard actions, API requests, rate-limit signals, and generated conversion records.
  • Billing data. Checkout status, payment events, subscription status, plan information, and billing identifiers handled by our payment provider.
  • Technical data. IP address, browser or device information, request logs, error diagnostics, security events, and performance data.

Uploaded statements and PDF passwords

Your uploaded statements are used to generate the conversion result you request. If a PDF is password-protected, the password you provide is used to open that file for the conversion workflow. Do not provide online banking passwords, one-time passcodes, or credentials for financial accounts.

Uploaded files may be processed by the application server, conversion worker, OCR or document processing services, storage systems, and preview or download systems needed to provide the service. Bank Statement Converter is not intended to be a long-term document archive.

When you export a Google Sheets-friendly file, the output is designed for use in spreadsheet workflows. We do not currently operate a Google Sheets add-on that requests Google OAuth access to your Drive or spreadsheets.

Cookies and local storage

We may use cookies, local storage, and similar browser technologies for authentication, anonymous usage limits, dashboard sessions, security, preferences, and service reliability.

We do not need advertising cookies to convert bank statements, and we do not sell bank statement data for advertising.

How we use information

  • Process statement PDFs and generate requested exports.
  • Show previews, track locked pages, and enable paid unlocks.
  • Manage subscriptions, page quotas, API keys, checkout, and billing status.
  • Authenticate users, secure accounts, enforce rate limits, and prevent abuse.
  • Debug errors, measure reliability, improve conversion quality, and maintain the product.
  • Send transactional notices such as receipts, account updates, service notices, and security messages.
  • Respond to support, privacy, billing, compliance, or security requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and property of users and the service.

We do not sell your bank statement data. We do not use the contents of uploaded bank statements to train generalized AI models.

How information is shared

We may share information with service providers that help run the product, including cloud hosting, storage, OCR or document processing, payment processing, authentication, email delivery, analytics, logging, security, error monitoring, and customer support vendors. These providers are expected to use information only to provide services to Bank Statement Converter.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

Data retention

Bank Statement Converter uses short retention windows for conversion records and usage counters. The default dashboard retention window is 24 hours, and users may choose 24, 48, or 72 hours where the retention setting is available.

Temporary worker files are removed after a conversion job completes. Generated previews, outputs, logs, billing records, account records, API key metadata, and security records may be kept for different periods where needed to operate the service, provide downloads, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, support billing, or comply with legal obligations.

You can use dashboard Settings to delete stored conversion records and usage counters for the current browser or account subject. API keys and billing records are handled separately for security and payment reasons.

Your choices

  • You can choose not to upload a statement or not to provide a PDF password.
  • You can use the free preview before paying for a full unlock or subscription.
  • You can delete stored conversion data from the dashboard where that control is available.
  • You can delete API keys from the dashboard when they are no longer needed.
  • You can cancel paid subscriptions according to the billing terms shown during checkout.
  • You can request help with account, billing, privacy, or data questions by contacting us.

Security

We use practical administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate for a financial document conversion workflow. These may include access controls, rate limits, worker isolation, logging, and separation between account, billing, API, and conversion systems.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security. You should upload only statements you are authorized to process and avoid sharing banking credentials or unnecessary sensitive information. For more detail, see our Security Compliance page.

International processing

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers through our service providers and operational processes.

Children

Bank Statement Converter is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to the service, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
